SEO Internals focuses primarily on how the workings of search engines affects the search engine optimization process. Given the public availability of Patents filed by companies like Google it becomes possible to keep an eye on it and decipher what possibly is going on inside Google. This is not a silver bullet though. Patents are only guidelines and moreover the trade secrets are not disclosed in them.
Search Engine Algorithms are developed and constantly updated to reflect the approach Google takes over how it does the Information Retrieval. By extension, SEO is a science of reverse engineering Google’s algorithm. Find the weaknesses of Google and exploit them. Any SEO who says they are not exploiting Google’s weaknesses then he is fooling you. SEO is something Google does not expect people to do. But over the years, Google recognized that people are bound to exploit it and hence now officially it acknowledges presence of something called SEO.
